So how much does it cost?

The Kiteboarding Paradise new rate schedule for 2012 is available here.

How does this compare to other cruises?

KiteboardingParadise.com is probably not what most people think of as a cruise or even a kiteboarding cruise. We do expect some sailing, but for the most part, we want you to kiteboard or take our kitesurfing course on board. We like to think of you as taking kitesurfing holidays with us rather than a sailing vacation since we are concentrating on kitesurfing and kitesurfing lessons.

Do you do bareboat charters?

Sorry, no. We are catering to the people that would be taking kiteboarding lessons, or enjoy kiteboarding trips. For example, you would not be someone who is simply looking for caribbean sailing vacations, or a caribbean boat charter. While there is an aspect of a sailing vacation in our activity, a caribbean sailing vacation is not our primary focus.

Do you charter yachts or do you consider yourself a yacht charter service?

Not really. Think of as more as a full service hotel that focuses on kiteboarding, generally in remote locations. Our dining service saves you the hassle and worry of obtaining food and preparing meals; and, frankly, with our chef, you will be looking forward to the next culinary delight. We like to think we rent “space” on the boat. The “space” is typically a double cabin with a private bathroom.

Can you do a yacht charter?

Yes, though we primarily sell individual space to relieve you of the burden of trying to round up a group of people to go. Though, if you wish to gather a group of 6, you will likely find it more economical to charter the entire yacht. You will still get the full services of an instructor if you want to learn to kitesurf, and all the advantages of a skipper and full meal service, but the costs per person will be less.

If I don’t bring a group of people, will I be surrounded by strangers?

Yes and no. You will be surrounded by kiters and kite enthusiasts that want to learn, improve, and enjoy kiteboarding. Since our clientel is mixed primarily between the USA and Europe, you are likely to meet and enjoy people from other areas of the world.

Is this like a luxury cruise?

Probably not in the sense that most people think of luxury cruises. We don’t have a dance floor, an open continuous buffet, and we don’t, for the most part, visit different ports of call in the same week. What we do provide is an environment for you to kite or learn how to kite by preparing meals and managing the boat and locations. For a kiteboarding destination, you could think of KiteboardingParadise.com as a luxury kiteboarding trip.

Do you travel around the world looking for kiteboarding destinations?

We try to avoid sailing trips of more than a few hours at a time to provide the most kiting time for people. We have selected locations in relative close proximity to each other so that the transition time to a new location is short. This way we can offer some short open ocean sailing trips to those that want to kite for more than one week. Most people want some rest time after a few full-time kiting days so these transition cruises are an ideal situation. The open ocean sailing is generally for one or two days at a time.

But to answer the question: We do travel around the world looking for kiting destinations. As business expands, we hope to set up yachts in other geographical areas so that you can visit us in other regions.
